GTVL studies every function of its manufacturing process and implements ways to recycle, and reduce its environmental footprint on the earth. We try to be as resourceful as possible, creating as little waste as we can. Scrap fabric is sold by the kilo to community members who turn them into rags for resale. Our knitting plant work closely with our office and warehouse to ensure that our yarn scraps, paper, electronic waste and plastics are properly disposed of. We reuse our shipping boxes as many times as possible. After the cardboard becomes too weak to reuse, we send the boxes to a recycling house. 85% of writable and printable paper used at our office and factories is made from 85% bleach-free recycled paper. 90% of the lights used in our offices and factories have been retrofit with energy saving lights and fixtures, a move that saves us over a thousand watts of power.
